Though a loofah may not be effective as quickly. Dark elbows are generally caused by dead, hardened skin. To get rid of dark elbows, you need to prevent the build up of this dead skin. Do not scrub so hard as to break the skin.

Moisturize your elbows several times a day. Be sure to slather them with lotion before bedtime.

Do not lean on your elbows at the table or your desk.

Drink a lot of water. Water is great for your skin.
